Kitchenaid Refrigerator Reviews

KitchenAid Refrigerators are, hands down, consumer favorites.  Sure they are a little more pricey than than brands like LG, but they are solid solid products (yes, we know we typed the word solid twice.  And yes, KitchenAid french door refrigerators are THAT good ;-)

So it goes without saying that since they are a consumer fav… they get their own page (and you didn’t think we had talent on our staff?  Killed that rhyme… in time. Okay, so it wasn’t that good… never mind) Uh hum…. sorry, the staff gets a little stir crazy sometimes… please excuse them this time.

So where were we?  Ah yes… KitchenAid Reviews.

Simply put, they are excellent refrigerators and consumers simple LOVE them, so it made it a little tough to choose the “best” for this page.  Most of our consumers gave 4 out 5 stars or 5 out of 5 stars on all the models ratings.  So, without further ado, let’s get this KitchenAid french door refrigerator reviews started!

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KBFS20EVMS 19.7 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French-Door Refrigerator

Rated 4 out of 5 stars, this is both counter depth and french door style.  We could tell you about the fancy hinges that allow the doors to open wider than most fridges or the cool temperature controls and how it’s Energy Star compliant and all that stuff, but we won’t.  Instead, we’ll show you what actual customers had to say and let you decide for yourself if you want to click the link to check it out.

Actual Customer Review: “I really love this frig. I thought I’d hate the deli tray – almost all the frigs seem to have them – but it works out really well to hold containters of things (goat cheese, yogurt, etc) which I can see and pull out at a glance vs getting lost in the back on a rack.

The counter depth is great, but what distinguishes the Kitchenaid for me is the interior water dispenser. I don’t like in-the-door water/ice dispensers because I think they’re unattractive, and they take up so much room inside. Mostly I want water – ice I can get from below easily – and this saves so much room not needing to use my big brita. Am sold on counter depth now because I can see everything so much more easily – the frig is wider and not as deep and that’s perfect.

The only reason I’m not giving it 5 (or 10) stars is because the stainless is high maintenance. Nothing seemed to clean it well so I researched it to death (and went through a number of stainless steel cleaners) and followed the recommendation of a lot of people to use Weisman spray cleaner with a microcloth. That works really really well – but I wish the metals Kitchenaid uses would require less maintenance. I’m aware now and in the habit of keeping my hands off the doors as much as possible – using just the handles – but if I had a bunch of kids in the house it’d drive me batty.

I’d buy this frig again in a heartbeat. Love it!”

  • I know, I know.  They ALL sound the same with their temperature control and water dispensers and what knots and do-dads… so let’s just see what actual customers have to say about this: “This refrigerator replaced one of those double door refrigerators that had 5 freezer shelves which were too narrow to accomodate frozen pizzas or a 22 lb turkey. I hated the old fridge. It looked nice, but was pretty useless and impractical.

My new Kitchenaid refrigerator/freezer is great. Food items are clearly visible and there is plenty of storage space on both doors that allow for varied heigths depending on your needs. Electronic controls allows for consistent temp. Vegetable and fruit storage is accomodated with large bins and coldcuts and cheeses have their own storage drawers. There is an alarm that alerts you if the doors are not properly closed and a constant readout indicating temperature. A water dispenser is mounted on an exterior door which I don’t use much.

The lower mounted freezer has two deep baskets that hold pretty much everything with an adjustable slide for more efficient storage.
The stainless steel exterior glistens and offers a lot of flexibility re: home decor. The exterior does require a weekly cleaning with stainless cleaner.
I like the quality, performance, and appearance and bought as second similar unit without the water dispenser.”

KitchenAid KFCS22EVMS Architect II Series Energy Star Counter Depth French Door

Another great counter depth french door refrigerator from KitchenAid.  Many customers gave this 5 out of 5 stars.  Here are some of the basic features and then the actual customer review… from that ONE person who didn’t like this model (sorry, we wouldn’t be a fair and honest review site if we didn’t give you the bad news too, right?)

    Product features:

    • 36″ 21.8 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator with Adjustable SpillClean Glass Shelves, Interior Water Dispenser and Humidity-Controlled Crisper: Monochromatic Stainless Steel
    • ENERGY STAR Qualified
    • FreshChill Temperature Management System
    • Pull-Out Tri-Level Freezer Drawer with SatinGlide Baskets
    • FreshSeal Humidity-Controlled Crispers
Actual customer review (from that ONE person who didn’t like this model):
“It’s the last day of a beautiful kitchen remodel and the Kitchen Aid “counter-depth” refrigerator
sticks out of the 24″ deep standard cabinets by almost four inches! It looks like a sore thumb sticking
out like that. Counters are 24″ deep, not 27 5/8″ + doors panels! So this “built-in” looks like a mistake.
We are attempting to return this faux counter-depth and purchase a true 24″ deep unit.”
You’ll need to click the link to read one of the 5 star reviews that starts out “I want to hug this refrigerator every morning…” (A little weird in our book, but hey, it speaks volumes for this model doesn’t it?  And really, who are we to judge what kind of relationship people want to have with their refrigerators).
