LG : LFX21975ST 20.5 Cu. Ft. French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Stainless Steel
Product Description
While this is probably the top rated LG models in it’s price range. This striking French Door refrigerator has been rated at 4 out of 5 stars. It has a sleek, counter depth design but still offers plenty of organized storage. Here are some of the highlights you can expect:
Here’s what one happy customer had to say: “I did up a big spreadsheet and read all the reviews I could before committing to this purchase. There are tons of negative reviews on the LG products so I was hesitant to pull the trigger. However, we loved the look of the stainless exterior and the ice maker/water dispenser design on the exterior wasn’t available on other models. We made our purchase at a local retailer and I mentioned all of the poor reviews. The sales rep was a friend (of a friend) and he assured me they wouldn’t sell LG if they had more problems than the other brands so we took a leap of faith. So, we have had the unit now for over a year. Zero issues and we love it as much as the day we installed it. The stainless exterior still looks perfect (I use WD-40 on it for a great shine!) The interior design is very flexible, all the levels can be adjusted to fit. The doors hold open for loading at 90 degrees but close on their own at less than that. The compressor is nearly silent. It’s not perfect, the ice maker occasionally gets frozen up, but we just pull the ice bin and shake it or remove the clump and it’s good as new. Both doors must be opened to access the one larger drawer, a better design would have been to split it. The counter depth size is great and makes it look built in. However, the interior is pretty small and it can be tough to get everything loaded. As I write this it’s right after Thanksgiving and it was a battle to fit all the leftovers in it along with milk, juices and a case of beer. But it swallowed it all up. We have a small family and we barely make it work.” You can read all the reviews and get more information by clicking the link below: LG : LFX21975ST 20.5 Cu. Ft. LG : LFX23961ST 22.6 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator – Stainless Steel
Okay, this LG Model comes in at number two on our list, with customers giving it a 4 out of 5 star rating. We are going to put the link up here at the top so you can check it out yourself. We still recommend that you read through the review, because we are simply going to quote the company write up (it made us chuckle. It is – by FAR – the most lengthy company write up we have ever seen. They actually think that giving their company mission statement and throwing up percentages is cool.) …. so, here’s the link, but be sure to read the actual customer review and, of course the dumb-ass company write up too

Here’s an actual customer review: “I really love this fridge! It is so bright inside. The ice maker keeps up with me filling up my 40oz water bottle with ice every day plus other general use from other people at home. As a bunch of people say as well though on these style fridges, when cubes is selected some crushing action still happens but for the most part whole cubes come out. If you were really fussy about needing just cubes this may be a downfall however it seems to be a problem on all french door fridges with ice in the door. You just have to weigh your options / needs. I use mostly crushed ice when I’m at home and cubes in my water bottle so a little crushed ice with my cubes isn’t a problem. Compared to my old fridge/freezer (standard freezer on top model) this fridge/freezer has a lot more room inside however door storage is less because the icemaker takes up the door space. Not a big deal though as I’d rather have more main compartment storage. I’m really happy with the purchase.”

LG : LSC27910ST 26.5 cu. ft. Side by Side Refrigerator – Stainless Steel
Coming in third in the LG Refrigerator Reviews category is this fine model. It seems folks have a love-hate relationship with this particular fridge. They either gave it 5 out of 5 stars or they gave it 1 out of 5 stars… which makes it about a 3.5 total stars.
The first thing we should point out is that this is more of a side by side refrigerator than a french door refrigerator… but hey, this page is all about LG reviews, so we put it in anyhow (mostly because of it’s low cost – $1326.39 and high customer rating!)
Here’s a quick run down of the features:
Product Description
Here’s what one of the happy-happy customers had to say: “We are very happy with our fridge. It is huge on the inside, and very bright, and the shelves are sturdy and there is plenty of room to organize the fridge the way you like. The freezer is nice and roomy and the only thing I do not like are the 2 wire baskets at the bottom. I have a hard time pulling them out since items peek through the wire mesh and get caught with the items in the basket underneath or on top.
But the nicest feature is the fact that the ice maker is on the SIDE, on the freezer door. The only caveat is that you have to make sure not to place anything on the top shelf to block the connection to the side ice maker, but there is plenty of space on the top shelf, so it is not too big of a problem. According to manufacturer’s specs, there is no more cubic feet in this model than the older one that had the ice maker inside the freezer (The model LG LSC27910SB and this one both have 10.24 cubic feet of space). However, I prefer have shelf space rather than a side drawer space. Plus, the pull-out ice bin on the side is really nifty and compact, and slides easily in. It is clear plastic so you can see how much ice is in it.
I also really like the tall dispenser. At first, I thought it was gimmicky until I had company and had to fill 2 pitchers of water several times through the evening. No tilting and trying to fit the pitcher under a short dispenser! It really is a nice feature. And if you have a fragile pitcher, there is a water button that you can use instead of pushing against the dispenser.
Finally, the digital display looks really cool. The numbers and symbols are this pretty blue color (not red, which would have been horrible), and after you get used to pressing the buttons to change the settings and not the display (for some reason, we kept doing this when trying to change the ice setting from crush to cube or vice versa), it is very handy. Aside from the forementioned button for Ice Type, there are buttons for setting the temps of your refrigerator (40 degrees for us– at 38 degrees the juice froze) and freezer (0 degrees), a button for “Ice Plus”, a feature that revs up the ice machine and makes more ice cubes faster (but don’t forget to turn it off when you have enough ice!), and a button to change lock the display and deal with the alarm (an alarm can go off after 30 seconds to warn you you have left the door open). Also, the display of the temperatures is not the actual temperature of the fridge or freezer, which would have been really cool, but the settings.
The water dispenser requires a filter that the manufacturer recommends be replaced every 6 months, and they have a display with a monthly digital countdown for that! We have not decided whether we will replace it every 6 months, and if we do not, there is supposed to be a way to reset this timer so it won’t bother you if you don’t.
We bought the black one, and we love it. The handles are longer than the older model and look very sleek. The only odd thing about the black is that the doors are smooth black, the but the rest of the fridge is that textured black that fridges usually come in. At first, it drove me crazy, but now I do not notice it.
We are very, very happy with this fridge and would recommend it. We got it from our local big box hardware store (only one of the national stores carry it, the other does not carry LG), and we bought the extended warranty just in case. It was worth the $99 for 4 years of peace.”
